About the blog.

“the distance to heaven is the same everywhere” – Zora Neale Hurston

this blog is the culmination of a non academic trying to make sense of a country that shares a history with my own. fueled by the stories of Zora Neale Hurston and her dedication to her artistry sometimes to the detriment of her finances and mainly supported through teaching english, this blog is the beginning of what I hope will one day be a shift in how we view the African diaspora, travel and globalization.
